First, you have to build a positive rapport with the students. You get to know them and from there, inventory their learning styles. It takes a lot of work, but if you are going to teach them anything that they will want to excel at and succeed, you need to tap in to their strengths and interests. Relationship-building is the beginning of everything in Education!

I agree that, first of all, one must build a relationship with their students. As you learn about each student, you will start noting the various strengths of each child. Some will be great with setting up technology whereas others will be great emotional writers and ones who express their thoughts very vividly. We will be able to see this more as we inject the various technology modes into our lessons–podcasting, blogging, creating web sites, etc. Vary your teaching strategies and its amazing the results you will see.
