ISTE Casts – Interviews with ISTE Authors
I’ve always felt that there is more to a book than just the book itself. What inspired the author to write their book? What expertise do they have? How does the content of the book apply to me? Why is this subject matter so important?
For these reasons ISTE produces ISTE Casts. We conduct interviews with the authors of ISTE books and authors of Journal of Computing in Teacher Education (JCTE) articles so that readers can learn more about what’s behind the ideas, theories, and recommended applications the authors are providing.
For example, subscribers to ISTE Casts have heard Liz Kolb’s ideas on the future of cell phones in education and how cell phones are being used around the world today. In his interview, Gary Swan, author of “Tools for Data-Driven Decision Making in Teacher Education: Designing a Portal to Conduct Field Observation Inquiry,” provides a straight-forward definition for knowledge management, and in his, Global Education author Laurence Peters talks about the power of global collaboration and the impact it can have on students.
The goal of ISTE Casts is to allow readers get to know ISTE’s authors, to understand their passions, and to learn more about important ed tech topics. Right now, I would like to reach out to you, the readers, to find out what you would like to know. This is your chance to get inside the heads of some great minds. What else should we be asking?
