Remembering a Passionate and Wonderful Community Manager
This past week, ISTE and the ISTE Connects community lost a dear friend and invaluable member of our team. Kaya Hardin passed away last Monday, which came as a tremendous shock to us all. She was a young, vibrant Social Media Strategist and she cared deeply about her role as a connector. Kaya will be missed, but her mission to drive innovation and equity through social media will not be forgotten, and will not stop.

Though I never knew her directly I feel stunned. She was a wonderful presence in my PLN. As all of us are brought together to share ideas about education, our lives are also connected. We all share in the sadness of her death. My thoughts go to her friends and family.

Kaya, I will miss your thoughtful comments, and your kindness towards an old goat trying to find his online way. You made me smile, and I’m certain I wasn’t alone.

She was beautiful and her smile lit up a room. I’m so sad to hear she is not with us in body anymore.
