Announcing the Panelists for the Oxford Debate Taking Place at NECC 2009

As you probably already know, the topic of the Oxford-style debate at NECC will be, “Bricks and Mortar Schools Are Detrimental to the Future of Education.” Emerging technologies, newly proposed policies, and a generation of tech-empowered students are just a few reasons why this debate is so crucial at this point in history. Since announcing NPR’s Host of All things Considered, Robert Siegel, as the Debate moderator, I’ve received countless inquiries about which education technology all-stars will be chosen to participate in this debate. Without further ado, it is my pleasure to announce the Oxford-style debate panelists.

• Where: Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Ballrooms A–C, Level Three
• When: Tuesday, June 30, 8:30–9:45 am (live audience of 4,000)

In the coming days, two students will also be selected to serve on the panel. They will be chosen from the winners of the 2009 National Forensics League Competition. If you have not done so already, we encourage you to submit a question to be answered by the panel during the debate. You also have the option to vote on the questions submitted by your colleagues. If you are unable to attend the debate, you can catch a livestream of the debate on ISTE Vision and participate in a live chat with real-time polling here on ISTE Connects.
